Favorite Tastes

Hello, I'm back to sharing special moments.
In the years of my children I think I have made a few dishes they love me to make repeatedly and some not so much.  One dish, it is actually a dessert, they love and devour it every time it's made.  Through the years I have also included this dish/dessert into our camping menu, cooking it in the dutch oven.
I have had many people ask what it is and how to make it.  I have finally decided to publish this recipe and when I made it this last time I took step by step pictures to help with the recipe and directions.
One of my favorite parts of this recipe is how versatile it is.  It can have a different taste/flavor every time you make it.  So here is one of my families favorites!

 DUMP CAKE

1 28 oz can sliced peaches with juices
1 yellow cake mix
1 stick of butter, melted

Step 1:
Empty entire can of peaches, including juices into 9x13 cake pan evenly.

Step 2: Sprinkle cake mix over peaches evenly covering all of them.

Step 3:  Pour melted butter evenly over cake mix.

Step 4: Bake 350 degrees approx. 30 minutes, until bubbly and golden brown. Let cool

This is now finished!  Be prepared to eat more then you should.  But be careful it is rich!

Now that you have made the basic version, you will want to try different flavors.  Here are a few of the combinations I have either tried or will in the near future.
  • Canned apple pie filling apples, caramel sauce spice cake mix
  • Canned cherrie pie filling, devils food cake mix
  • Canned pineapple rings, maraschino cherries, yellow cake mix
Try these and then come up with your own combinations, but make sure to share with me your combination.  I'd love to try it too.

Hope you enjoy this family favorite of ours as much as we do!
